grumble.

so i've decided i definitely do NOT like the new cure album. &that's disappointing. "the end of the world" is seriously the best song on the album, and that's sad, because it's a mediocre poppy tune at best.

granted, i've only heard the u.s. version, and apparently the tracks that were left off the u.s. version are fantastic, so i'm going to hope the vinyl, which has all the omitted tracks, makes for a better album, but still. some of the songs are cringe-worthy, especially the first three. a lot of them recycle riffs &whatnot from past songs.

sigh. the cure hasn't released a good studio album since wish, and that was 12 years ago. disappointing.

at least they're going to be playing old stuff when i see them live......if the setlists i've been seeing for the europe dates are any indication, anyway.
